The best resume format will get the Recruitment prctioner’s attention immediately and make it clear that you’re the best candidate for the job while emphasizing aspects of your career that you’d prefer to highlight.

Important tips fpr formatting a resume:

  1. Set one-inch margins on all four sides.
  2. Pick a 11 or 12pt resume font and stick to it.
  3. Create a proper resume header format for your contact details.
  4. Divide your resume into legible resume sections: Contact Information, Resume Summary, Work Experience, Education, Skills.
  5. Use bullet points to talk about past jobs.
  6. Be consistent with your resume formatting (stick to the same date format: for example 11–2018, or November 2018.)
  7. Use single or 1.15 line spacing.
  8. Add an extra space before and after each section heading.

  4. Work Experience - Your work experience in reverse-chronological order. When possible, talk about achievements over responsibilities.
  5. Skills Section - Skills relevant for the position you’re applying for.
  6. Education - Your educational history. Pro tip - if you have a B.A., feel free to skip on your high school education.
  7. Optional Sections - Sections like volunteering, projects, portfolio, hobbies, etc. While they’re not a game-changer, they can help fill up some space on your resume.
Resume format Two: Functional resume

Functional resumes focus more on relevant skills than work history. While the chronological format highlights work experience with detailed summaries of the achievements within each position, the functional format focuses on the applicant’s skill set relevant to the role you are applying for.

Resume format Three: Combination resume
